So I mistakenly called this an arrowhead in another forum when I knew better. This is my first point I have found, someone suggested I post it over here and do some reading on it. I found this while out detecting.

Nice point! Congrats. Looks like a paleo era piece!

That’s what the other fella said...I’m new to the whole thing....I start reading up on stuff as I find it and get smarter as I go. Figured I would get some of the expert opinions over here...or should I post it somewhere else?

Look up basal grinding

Interesting, maybe I should post better pictures with shadows and measurements. This is probably just another post in this forum. Probably like when I posted my first silver Roosevelt dime when all this other much cooler stuff is posted🤣

Here is the place you need to be. Just post in-focus pics with a size reference (known coin will do) at different angles in this thread and you'll get more responses on that piece I'll bet.

Looks chunky for a paleo-era piece, unless it's a hybrid conceived when an Agate Basin snuck off into the weeds with a Suwanee (?)

Anybody considered Copena (much more likely in both space and time) ?

I put some more pictures up, my jeweler loupe broke so I couldn’t hold it in front of my camera lense, are these useful or do I need pictures of the edges under magnification?

Area would be important as well I guess, outskirts of Savannah Georgia

It’s a fluted paleo dart point, I’m not familiar with your area ,so I don’t know the type

Thank you

Good point!! I would say Paleo. Every point is unique, you never really know why or what happened to make them turn out like they do?

I don’t think it’s Paleo, but it’s a nice point, and a nice first find.
