I was WRONG! Not only old but it is a lover's token also!. I about had a heart attack! This is only my second 1800's coin. So happy!

Nice job on the Seated coin. Just a thought, and my opinion - Usually Love tokens were done in Old English or Script lettering and had a fancy edge. I think someone may have just stamped their own initials on that coin. That being said, it is your coin and you can think it is whatever you want it to be ! Congrats on your second 1800's coin, and I hope your third one is around the corner.

Nice. I cant wait for some 1800s silver. Hey even the coin said "Happy Hunting" to ya.

My first two 1800 coins were copper...congratulations on an awesome find!

I love those seated coins. Congrats on a great find.

Nice find! Unlikely a "love token" (unless it was a "poor man's love token") and more likely a defaced coin, but still cool as it tells a story.

Question: you boys all grow your nails that long in Alabama? :laughing7:

Lovely counter stamped silver (even though it was hand done).
I like them more than just a regular coin now, it tells a story of some sorts.

I'm guessing somebody's "lucky coin" with their initials on it. Possibly from their birth year.

We've seen those posted on T-net a time or two. Some more formal than others.

Someone posted a large cent (1827?) a few years ago with a name engraved on it. We researched it and found it belonged to an acquaintance of John Wilkes Booth.

My dad carried a silver dollar from his birth year (though NOT initialed). I still have it. Nearly worn slick from being in his pocket everyday for years.

That is sweet, congrats on a great find!

Sweet coin, cool love token! :occasion14:
