Maybe a drill bit holder. Usually has an outer casing around it. Tighten the outer casing, and your drill bit would be firmly held in place.

It look's like a large dart shaft that a big dart flight might slide into. Basically the metal end of an old dart or because of it's size the end of an arrow?

Looks like a broadhead body with slots for replaceable blades. It should be threaded inside at least in the top.
If it's not threaded on the bottom it may have been glued to a cedar shaft.

Looks to be a broadhead tip for a bow, minus the blades and the rest of the setup. The only difference is on my older broadhead tips there were threads at the bottom of it so it screwed into the shaft of an arrow. Does it look like any portion of it is broken at the bottom?

One thing I have never used but seen was laser that is placed on sopmething like that inside the bore of a gun. I think that there are two parts, the piece you have and another piece that has a slender piece that seats inside the center or tip of what you have. Does the very top have a hole in the center that something like a coffee straw stirer could slide inside?

No it's not threaded at all, I am very familiar with broadheads and it isn't one of those either. Thanks for taking a look though.

Looks like a pin vise. They are similar to a drill chuck, but much smaller. The tapered part fits into a cone and tightens the bit as pressure is applied from behind. Curious that it's not threaded though. Is it hollow throughout?

I think Creskol was right about it being a collet. This is a bullet puller collet.

i use tools like this at work it is a collet from a pin vice no threads because it sits on a threaded mandrel and a tapered sleeve is threaded onto the mandrel , the more you turn it the tighter those jaws will close.
my pin vice can hold a drill bit of .005 of an inch in diameter. i have different size collets to accommodate the different size of pins to be held
