For the first time went late in the year and not the usual early September. Proved to be a bad time of the year as most of the fields Jim and I have were under crop. Digging was restricted to rallies on Wed, Sat and Sunday. Still find it a tad intimating to get on a field with so many detectorists!
Managed to get out 7 times with the only thing of note was a Henry V111 sovereign penny.

Here is the bits and bobs that were dug.

Jim and I kept busy with sorties into town for shopping, coffee, stamps and breakfast.

Getting geared up now for the next trip and....who knows what can be at the end of the rainbow.

Way ta go. Nice finds.

Yeap, Rallies don't suit my style. It's all about meeting people & having a drink, if you ask me.

The Durham mint is pretty hard to come by so a nice find, I think.

Just out of curiosity, what were you allowed to bring back with you?

In my case, it was 50 years old and newer you were allowed to take home right away. Everything else has to be evaluated first to decide if an item is to be kept in the country. If it is, they keep it and give you it's value, if not, you get to take it home or have it shipped to you. Highly valuable items, such as gold or a hoard, you are to split what you get with the land owner.

All of it if you apply for an export licence. There are very few things you can't take home if you follow the rules. It just takes TIME, & knowledge.

Amazing finds glad to see you posting

Enjoyed the pictures and the finds, thanks.

Nicely done, and all the best,

Lanny

A nice trip any way you look at it. Congrats!
