thats what i call it,its real name is isla mujeres and is a few miles off cancun,many tourist come over from cancun so the pickens are pretty good .

Do you have any trouble taking your machine down there with you or returning? I live... lets see... about 10 blocks from Mexico and have been wanting to get over to the west coast and do some hunting.

after reading it,it made me laugh.as for paying for my vacation,i never tryed to sell my stuff,but you gave me a great idea.no ive nevr had trouble brings my machine,i take out the batterys and carry the machine in by carry on so i keep it.i once was asked what it was and told them and that was that.we go to the other side of mexico,land in whats left of cancun and take a taxie to the ferry and make the 14 mile trip.theres a lot of gringos liveing and owning on isla do to napa wich gives usrights to buy in mexico,i loved it the way it was.its now getting like south beach,everything went way up.

DigEmAll, I've never had a problem. I've taken mine ot Cancun several times, and once to Belize. Never even got asked about it.

Great finds! I've been to that island myself, but it was years and years ago when I was still in HS and wasn't into MDing yet!

Get any coins with a 2 on them? I got my mexico coin at a playground in Hood Canal. it was odd i dont know how it ended up in Washington state since it was from Mexico. it was 2 peso's and had a dragon on it. Still very cool even though its not worth anything in the U.S. I was very excited because that was my third foreign coin since i started detecting which was back in december 2005. The coin was 1998. Which was the middle of the 4-5 year span they made the coin. Look at my post if u want to see the coin. Mexico coins are pretty cool.

I never got one, but I believe I had one in change a few years back.

It probably got there when McDonalds was doing its "world currency" contest. You received a coin from different countries that were very small denominations. It was like a year or two ago, and I remember most the coins being in the 90s.
