My little chromosome and I have had a pretty decent year so far. Unfortunately with all of the flooding and heavy rains we’ve been enduring in my area all spring and summer, we haven’t been able to get out as much as I would have hoped we could’ve. All were found in SW Iowa & SE Nebraska by me or my mini.

Excellent day in every respect!

Awesome finds! Whats up with that stone you found with the crazy color and design??

To be able to hunt with your son is more priceless than any point. I've hunted with my son for 40 years and now with my 8 year old grandson. They will always have a part of me to share and remember our fun.

It is a Fairburn Agate. The distribution range of this particular agate is SUPPOSED to be from around Deadwood SD to Chadron NE and roughly a 150 or so miles to the east or west of that general line, essentially in the Badlands and Black Hills region. They are not supposed to be found in SE Nebraska as that is way out of the known range to find them, but sure enough this is the second one I’ve found in this river, so I like to show them off whenever I get lucky enough to find them. They’re real purdy rocks😎👍

Nice finds.
I have seen a number of Lake Superior Agates from SE Nebraska but I have a hard time telling some of those from Fairburns.
Is there an obvious difference?
