Managed about 4 hours detecting this week, was real good to get out! Here?s a field where I found a gold ring in December and a silver 1850ish coin, have spent a few hours here since then and it hasn?t produced much. The field on Thursday was thawed down to about 3-4? then was a solid ice cube under that. Don?t? let that blue sky fool you, it lasted about one beautiful hour between rains, then some really dark clouds moved in. I detected for another 30 minutes in a light drizzle then it got bad and I thought I heard thunder. Only found a badly smashed older button.

On the way back to the hotel, the clouds went in the other direction and the sun came out just as I was driving passed this playground so I gave it a try. Managed 3.80 Euros, $0.68 American cents and a small cross. Afterwards, I realized this park is just a few blocks away from my detector friend Vern?s house, surprised I found what I did, LOL! I know of nine playgrounds in this town but 4 have that dastardly rubber safety matting all over the place, curses!

Here are the finds from my four hours of bliss. Lower left is a 1 Austrian Shilling 1988, to the right is a German 50 Pfenning coin, the ring is junk, forgot to include the cross. Looking forward to some relic hunting soon. HH, Mike
