Got out several times this week after work and most of today. Found a brass and emerald (OK, green glass if you don't have a good imagination) top to a Victorian decanter, a nice brass, cast buckle frame (probably late 1700's), a large colonial button (Plain, no design), two early 1800 buttons and a really nice two piece navy button, with just a touch of gilt left on it. Unfortunately the back has rusted off, and I can not date it. It is not in Albert's book. Any help in identifying it would be appreciated. Thanks for looking...Lance

Nice Lance,

Glad to see you out and hunting again. I'm sure once you warm up again you'll be on a tear.

Hey Lance,
Nice finds!! By the looks of the age of that broach or whatever it was,
I would put a good bet in that those ARE emeralds. Natural ones to boot.
They are a nice dark green color, and could very well be real. :) ;D :)

Yes, I would like to know if they are real emeralds too. Have it checked out. What fantastic finds!
