This wasn't expected

I got permission to detect a new area which might be a Civil War camp. It is a wooded area and I was told there was a well on it somewhere. The owners have only owned the property for a couple years and didn't even know the name of the road it is located on. They told me of an old barn that has fallen in on itself within the last couple years but that is all they knew. While I was out detecting the property today I located the well and also the cellar hole of an old house. I also found the outhouse and the remains of 3 other barns that the owner didn't know existed.

There is a lot of junk laying around and is really over grown. It was very difficult to detect the property due to the growth. I have standing permission to detect there whenever I want so I think I am going to wait until winter when the snakes, ticks, and undergrowth are gone.

Here is the picture of the cellar hole.

There is a lot of junk around this place. The front of the house is fairly clear of trash and shouldn't be too hard to clear. I took video of the structures, the well and more of the cellar hole that I will post later tonight or tomorrow.

Well if your lucky it may have never been searched before.

Be careful with wells in the woods.

Some of my best finds have been around old outhouses. Good luck on what appears to be a great site!

Thats why I purposely looked for it first, so I would know where it was instead of finding it by accident.

Here is a picture of the outhouse. As you can see it sits next to another collapsed outbuilding.

Its a shame its still standing. If you can find a sunken spot near where the outhouse is now, you might find where it used to set. They moved them when the hole got full.

I am in the process of uploading the first video to youtube. Instead of posting a bunch of video here on the thread if anyone wants to see them goto my youtube.com channel. my channel name is "detectingdon"

It should not be a problem to find the previous locations and I have total permission to do what ever I want out there.
