The woods were diggable and the finds were scarce but it was good to get out.

Where did you find those? I'm going back and forth between wanting to go out tomorrow or staying home to nurse the wound. I'm thinking that if I go I'd head over to your "spot" (you know...Barber quarter)

Good job on getting out, and man are some of you hardcore. I was out a few days ago, did okay, but got frustrated by not being able to dig a few signals due to the frozen ground. How deep is the ground frozen in the woods? ~3-4 inches?

Hey Mark, that spoon I dug out there was a Baroness Silver Plate spoon.

Looks like it's from 1940.

Neil, that spoon was a lot better looking than some of the spoons I've found out there ;D

In the woods, the ground had only about 3/4" of frost. . . the Predator shovel shovel I was using worked well :)

Live ammo is always a interesting find. That 30.06 shell looks like it was in the dirt awhile.

That 30.06 round was from 1942 (Des Moines Arsenal). When I pulled it apart, the powder was damp. . . wife is happy now

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Glad you got out. It sure beats sitting in front of the tube or monitor all day.

Yeah Buddy! Inspire us!
Had a couple more computer gigs to steal away my spare time but I'm hoping tomorrow morning's brief wet and warm spell will invite me to some local digs.

Watercolor,

Looks like that bullet had babies :D
