That's a lot of jewelry, were you detecting at a swimming area?

The class ring should be easy to return. Nice of you to want to return it -- returning them does so much good for our hobby.

Karma will reward your good deed 10 fold amigo.......

iv tryed to contact the school.these schools are all over the US so i will never find her.i called the one in Ohio and thats what they said.so i did a google of it and sure enough there was about 8 of them.i emailed all of them.no reply yet? i even looked on Class Ring Found/ Lost.com .i looked under the name of the ring maker Jostens and cant find where the school is.its a Christians Academy

Post the info here and maybe somebody will offer to help you find the owner.

the only thing on it is MVCA 2004 and her name inside. made by Jostens.i will withold the name for positive id.

Well, whatever, but without a name it's impossible to contact an historical society or genealogical society for help in tracking down the family and ultimately the owner of the ring. You do what you can, maybe you'll get lucky with a response from the schools. Good luck and happy hunting.

nice class ring, looks like it has some weight to it.

Rings like that are fun to find, till you start to think of how crushed the person who lost must have felt. A few years ago I found a class ring from Villa Maria. I called the Villa here in Buffalo, but they told me there was no match. They gave me the number of the vila in Penn. It turned out that a mother who graduated from Vila in Penn.,gave the ring to her daughter. She to than graduated from the same Villa and lost it 1 year before I found it in the water at a local beach. I sent it back. The mother called me a told me how crushed her daughter was and how she had prayed for a whole year that some how the ring would be returned. Yes it is nice when you can make some poor kids prayer be answered. :D Mike..

As a former P.I., it shouldnt be that hard to locate her. But it will take some time and effort. But then again, thats what makes it fun and all the more fullfilling when you do locate her.

-You have her name, the year she graduated and the school name. If you havent already, join and then look/post with classmates.com.
-Start with the school under that name closest to where you found the ring (Tenn. to Ohio is not that big of a stretch) and call them. Emails get lost or passed over or simply ignored. Asked the office secretary if such and such person was in the class of '04.
-Look on the various school websites and see if they have a contact for a PTO person and try to contact the historian. They would be the one who would have documented the students and are most likely to know them by name.
-Do a name search on http://zabasearch.com/ and see if you have a name in the city/area as one of the schools (if she was 18 when she graduated she probably had not changed her last name from that of her father's).
-Check around on MySpace.com and see if you find anything.

If you want, email or pm me her name and what you have, if anything. I have no interest in the ring but if I can find anything out for you, I'd be happy to pass it back to you and you can make the contact. ( I enjoy doing this sort of thing)

Best of Luck and Kudo's for looking.

hi , I do a lot of beach detecting in majorca when Im on holiday , i too have really been bitten by the detecting bug ! I own 2 excaliburs,SE,sovy, and a surfmaster . I enjoy finding the usual coins, bling and rings some good , bad and the ugly rubbish ( just like everyone else )
I often say to my family Iv found a SAD again ring in spain , they engrave the couples name and wedding date inside the wedding band , and i often think how much joy I could bring to that mystery couple if I could return it to them ! Its only worth a few pounds to me as scrap gold or resale value , but it would be priceless to them .
I helped a lady and found her apartment keys under her sun bed , she was in floods of tears until i found them and then dashed off thanks and gone
I get a lot of pleasure from helping out tourists who have genuinley lost keys rings etc even though some of them dont deserve helping
thanks tony weston
