Made of tin or galvanized... Had an A pressed into it. Very thin about 2"across. Please help my curiosity.

I think I see an A in the middle or some sort is insignia. Someone one the form will know. Congrats

first thing that comes to my mind is possibly an old zinc Atlas canning jar lid broken away from the threaded part, but that's just a guess

i was thinking maybe a belt buckle or a shoulder plate of some sort??

it also could be a bridle rosette

Looks like the solder portion of bridle rosette... but I'll admit the thinness is a bit weird and there is no evidence of the attachment commonly found on a rosette.

I think you are right about it being part of an Atlas jar lid. I have found quite a few pieces of glass/ceramic "Boyd" jar liners. 20180801_121926.jpg20180801_121926.jpg
