Back in 2004 when I was stationed at the Presidio of Monterey in California, I bought a cheap MD to occupy me on the boring days. I had no idea what I was doing, and now that I do I wish I would have hunted more of the base and definitely Fort Ord, the current active-duty housing community/former artillery range.
Anyways, I was on base one day on my way back from the beach, where I spent about an hour unearthing a flat foot-square iron plate that was 4 feet down (I told you I was clueless lol ) when I saw some old buildings just past the guardhouse at the north end of the base. I figured, what the hell, did a couple quick sweeps, and out popped this:
For some reason, my dumb ass hopped back on my scooter and rode back to the barracks to celebrate instead of staying there and hunting the area out. Who knows what else I would have found... I can only imagine, and kick myself!
