I’ve had this piece of lead for a long time it was an odd shaped by kept it and then I saw they had some writing on there can anyone one have a better idea of letters..

I see small “ID” on the left follows by “I?I”. If you need better pictures a different angles let me know
How about laying a piece of paper on it and use a lead pencil sideways to rub on the paper and see what shows up. Just a thought.

Cool looking piece Truth. There are definitely letters on this piece of lead. I thought it almost looked like I was U Bell. Have you tried to do a charcoal etching on the letters with paper? I'd be curious as to know what it reads. Good luck. Let us know what you come up with.

I tried that and it didn’t work a French kissed it and I brought out the letters I also wrote down what it looks like

Super. share with us. Did you try wetting it. I guess you did that when you french kissed it.

It's difficult to determine the size of the piece but I'm guessing it is the remains of a lead ingot with the manufacturer's name embossed on it.

Until the mid-20th century, lead was used for many different purposes.
