this is unlike any find I have found before... its a plastic ball thing with a few METAL items rattling around in it... its about he size of a quarter... anyone seen anything like this? I wasn't going to break it open... but if I must... I forgot what it rang up as... I'll find out tomorrow... but it did ring up good enough for me to dig it in the first place!

whats sticking out of it? and how do you know it's metal inside and not just heavy lead paint? :o
Those pesky Chinese... Making lead paint now that's so toxic you can pick up the lead content with a metal detector ? :laughing9: If it's plastic it's not terribly old. I say bust it open. What if you don't & it's full of gold nuggets ?

Some bobbers has a tiny light in them so you could see them while fishing at night...that may be what you hear rattling inside.

now here is something odd... I put it in a glass of water... it floats... but the poles are backwards... I guess it was put in wrong... or it moved inside...

Would that have been filled with mineral oil at one time? I agree that it looks charred so if it was oil filled and then burned, the oil might have boiled out which may have led to the poles being reversed.
