Thanks folks.

(Edit:) the area where it was found was where the Battle of the Monongahela was fought in 1755 during the French & Indian war if that helps any.

That's cool, nice find. Not sure what or when, any info about the site?

Where the Battle of the Monongahela took place in 1755. French & Indian War.

So there is Native American heritage here

From here, it looks like a Southwestern themed silver plated copper cuff bracelet. Yours is a nice one.

Certainly has the look of an Indian arm band or bracelet to me, but just a guess. If you search posts by fmerg from 5 or 6 years ago he found one made of US coins.

That helps a lot. I only know that it is a bracelet and appears to be old.

Everything else is a learning lesson for me. So fire away on any info ya may have.

Very interesting find. Nice going. It looks like a Native American symbol of the Thunderbird with the crossed arrows that meant
friendship. Hand made no doubt. If only it could talk. Looks old for sure. May have been lost during the battle by one of the Native Americans
or one their allies who it was given to as a gift of friendship.
Cool find. Congrats !!

A very nice find !

I don't know much about Indian culture bust yes - I'd also say it looks like Silver plated Copper from here.

I also found this old ring. Its got a lil silver hue under the grunge...

It was under a massive rotted tree stump maybe 20yds from the bracelet.

Cool find, congrats! :occasion14:

Very cool!!! I have no clue about who, where, what, still cool, nice job!!

obviously a bracelet. Looks like a tourist piece to me, like probably 1940's-50's. I remember seeing similar ones for sale at places like Stucky's and vacation souvenir shops

yes, not an historic piece, not particularly valuable but a great treasure as a "find"!

Very cool find. The Monongahela people sort of evaporated in the early 1600s. There were indians there around the Whisky rebellion era. I don't think they were silver plating and tooling copper though. Just a guess it might be a tourist piece from the 30-50s...

The ring seems old.

Yeah, the ring seems like it would more likely have some age to it.

I spoke with a museum in the area and they said the ring is very old.

Being a silversmith for a number of years, I’d say the ring was a cast piece and old. The bracelet looks hand stamped not machine stamped. Not sure the NA were plating with silver over copper at that time. Very interesting finds. Good luck!
