I've been watching this guy's channel for over a year now. He makes incredible finds. Finding hundreds of V nickels and Indian head pennies along with many wheats and other silver coins. I'm amazed at how shallow just about everything he finds is. I think he is in Southern California? I'd love to be able to find old coins like that on the surface. One thing I noticed is that he doesn't wear gloves or a trash bag. He usually tosses the junk aside. Whatever it is, he is doing it right. Check him out. Larry Englehart on YouTube.

Arrggg... that vid was excruciating.

It was mostly him driving and rambling.
My dog can dig better as well.
I mean I never saw a "chopping dig" like that.
That "technique" will backfire one day when he pulls out what "was" a stellar find but has a huge scratch on it from that hack dig.

No offense.
Bad form :P heh

Btw... Deep Digger...
Are you "the" same Deep digger dan from Youtube over seas ?

IF so... I have seen a few of your vids WHICH actually are entertaining.

Yeah my kid showed me some of his vids when he lived in Germany; funny guy totally. My son says he has his own website now as well.

Not that guy. My hunting buddies here have been calling me that forever.
Sorry men.

tossing junk aside is not a good thing

Btw DDD...

From the sound of your words on this guy...
It seems you are "fond" of this guys "way"...

I must also add...
tossing trash to the side is not only lame... it is crap to watch someone do.
And IS littering.
Wonder if holes were filed... which if not is also lame.

IF you are going to envy / idolize another MD'r...

Choose one who knows what the heck they are doing...
And one that RESPECTS the MD "code".

What about a deep woods old dirt road after you've dug another horseshoe?

you dig it you take it out - no exceptions ( well maybe for faith hill)

How does he do it? Every hunt he finds amazing coins just below the surface?

action starts at 1:39. Then at 2:37 he flounders around after locating a target. Digs a few holes away from where he pin pointed it, only to dig a large cent! This guy has some sweet spots

That was excruciating.... Goes to show, a Kmart garden tool can scratch a Large Cent rather effectively.
Dude, your wife called, she wants her little shovel back.... Your pinpointing skills are great, you found metal within a 2 foot area...
I bailed after that...seems like a good idea....

Damn Dave... Wish ya hadn't said that (bold/red above). My wife asked today... where's my little shovel at...? ANSWER: A 1/3 of the tip is in the woods but I have the rest of it. :laughing7: Gotta buy her a new one now. Digging in this TN. harden soil is not the same as digging in her Miracle Grow pots on the deck.... :occasion14: But that comment hit home tonight..... :occasion14:

What is the point of watching/posting videos of a guy digging clad in a driveway ?

This man is the master of the 2" deep coin find. He finds hundreds of coins in pocket condition.
Come on! Plant some more!

Another awesome hunt from the Southern California.
This time around they find more beautiful coins hiding just inches below the surface. Larry even finds his fourth or fifth FLYING EAGLE CENT(how many California hunters do you know that have found several flying eagles in CA? These guys find more holed coins on the hunt that look like they came straight from the coin shop. Watch his videos, he is definitely one of the BEST SoCal hunters out there. His ability to guess a coin sometimes before he even sees it is truly incredible.
