Lucky you.Congrats.HH.

Hey Ohio digmam what part of ohio are you in? right now I'm by Rickenbacker Airport I doing some work down here found it just outside the Baymont Hotel

Congrats! Sometimes those old trees can hold some great treasures nearby.I always imagine people sitting by them in days gone by.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw it. I was even happier when I seen the big silver

Same here! I always gravitate toward those large old trees! Nice find! Keep an eye out for large, depressed areas as well....lots of time there was a much older tree there (long gone) that may have gone over in a storm and been removed, that may have some cool targets under it!

Great hunch! Someone probably needed some shade and sat down on a hot summer day, and unbeknownst to him, left that beauty cause it belonged to you. Great recovery. Thanks for letting us enjoy it too.

Congratulations. I found a Walker next to a fence a couple of months ago. Fences or large metal objects are good places to hunt because other MDers have trouble close to metal objects. I just turn down the sensitivity on mine and scan slower.

Yesterday I found a 1957 wheat on one side of an old stump and a no-date Buffalo on opposite side.

I found my first silver coin, a 1947 Washington, at the base of an old tree stump.

Congrats on the find!

Nice big silver! Always nice to see one of those come out of the ground.
