I currently swing an XLT.

However no companies are making aftermarket coils for them anymore, and won't be.

The XLT has plenty of features for me.

The V3i has too many. I borrowed one once, and found things like polar plot, to be inaccurate on deeper coins.

That being said, I would like an increase in depth, and before you comment, I am a diehard white's guy.

Some of the dealers I spoke with said the VX3 should gain 2" on depth.

BUT...these people are trying to make a sale too.

So I don't want to spend more money for equal depth.

I GET that the V3i and VX3 cost more because they DO MORE.

But I'm looking to upgrade from a V6 to a V8, not from a V6 to another V6 with heated seats.

Thanks!

Well I talked myself into it lol.

I found a ultimate 13 coil for 160 shipped too, they run about 180 normally.

Well scratch that..I had a line on one on eBay..until someone ran me up to almost 800 dollars..which is way too high considering the last one brought only 627 shipped.

I did a lot of reading in the few hours, and it appears the MXT ALL PRO runs almost the same depth as the VX3, maybe a 1/2" in difference.

In all honesty...features are really not worth as much to me as depth, and I can't see spending the extra money.

In all my years of metal detecting, I've never really found graphs and what not to be accurate on deeper targets.

It also seems easier to have all your settings on easy to get to knobs, rather than go into a menu system and adjust.

I did get a mint condition MXT ALL PRO for 678 shipped.

Not everyone should own a V3i. Get what you're comfortable with.

If depth is supreme above all else for you, you should have got a PI.

I didn't think PI's have discrimination.
