I think you would be going backwards by purchasing the 150. I believe the 250 is more equal to the f2 but even then, more people would rather have the f2 over the 250. Not that the ace 250 is bad. If you are looking to upgrade, i would go to the AT Pro but it does cost a bit more. I hope that this was helpful.
I went through the same decision making when upgraded from the Bounty Hunter Line. (two models) I would have saved a lot of money if I would have done some homework and taken the advice given here first. If you don't want to or can't move up to the "Big Boys Toys",($1000 and up) Now I'm not saying anything bad about any high end detector but some of us have to consider cost. You will not be disappointed with the AT Pro. Read the reviews and do the research. It's a lot of Bang for your Buck.
This is no insult to the 150,heck i ran one a while. You have an entry level, perhaps beyond unit all ready. As a back up if you could score a used 150 for a third of what you are looking at and you have no desire to upgrade fine. If you are going to keep detecting a long time start a fund for your next upgrade.
Ten loonies a week (o.k. twenty cause of winter) recovered with your f2, or the balance come up with each week by sheer goal setting and action will have you upgrading ina little over a year to four times all most a detector. If your considering learning a new unit, make it worth while and not frequent if possible.
The 150 money your considering can be banked to help on short weeks goals. Whatever you decide have fun. H.H.!
Another thing you could do, is buy a garrett pro pointer if you dont have one yet. They are very useful. Right now, ive seen brand new ones for sale with lesche diggers for $127. That might be an idea to make your dirt fishing experience better.
The 150 is a good machine. The Ace 250 adds the pinpoint feature, and is more similar in comparison to the F2. The Ace 350 would be an upgrade, it comes with headphones, has a larger DD coil, and a higher frequency for improved iron discrimination.
thank you all for your input,i think i am going too stay with my f-2 fisher,i will save for a AT PRO ...
I have the money to buy $1000-over but i just started digging 4months ago,and i have already bought 1:bounty hunter quickdraw 2:fisher f-2...i think i will wait for next year to upgrade,or atleast try to wait
Save your money up and tag along with someone with a high end machine and give it a try. You will not believe the difference! Just enjoy the ones you have now and once you try a big dog you will have a goal to shoot for, I guarantee it!
