I would like to start this tread to help pepole out in the filed.
So any suggestions on things to remember might help someone out.
One thing i try to tell myself while i am out there is when you get a signal
whether a bad broken signal or just that low one,or the signal just on the
plus side is what ever made that signal is made of metal. We and i mean
all of us at one time or another say its just a piece of junk and just keep going
to the next signal. You never know there may be a silver dime under that junk
or that junk may be that diamond ring or just maybe its a gold coin on it's side
well we can wish anyway.
I do dig allot of junk so that gold coin is not going to elude me,at least that what
i think.good luck everyone and may all your hunts be you best one.
H H O yea don't forget to check them batteries

yup dig that trash iffy spotty broken tones could be deep coins or coin masked by trash happenedto me last week broken tone followed by solid then broken was a site that is back filled 3 inchs pulled a rusty nail scan the dirt BANG 1875 IH so dig the iffys!!!!!also a couple firsts by the way...oldest ,pre-1900 and IH and from this spot

One of my best finds so far this year hsa been a 1914 canadian cent, the large ones they used to mint. The signal was a little broken and kind of sounded like a bottlecap, but I dug anyway. I'm glad I did. The only time I don't dig up a questionable target is when my MD can't pinpoint it.

the 2 Rings I found last week gave Double Signals when I switched to all metal to re-check. normally this means nail.

another thing to remember, slow down and Lap your swings.

good point jeff, i noticed that last june when i hit 3 rings at an inch they all gave double hits....
