How many grooves are there in the outer rim of a Kennedy Half ?

Is more silver found on odd days or even days ?

If you dropped a penny, nickle, dime, quarter, and half dollar off the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which one is silver ?

Why are US coins round ?

Just thinking out loud. Jim

1) 150 groves

2) Considering that I haven't found silver in weeks I'd say it is a very "odd" day when I do find :(

3) Depends on if you decide to drop a silver coin I guess, aha

4) And I believe they are round because it is the most efficient shape to make.. corners would wear down to fast, and they are easier to strike. Also when coins were made of precious metal and their face value was based on they metal content it would be real easy to cut a little piece of gold or silver off the edge (if it were a square or triangle or hexagon etc), and then sell the coin for face value but keep that extra gold or silver for free. with circles it's not as easy..

Hope that answers your questions and don't need to waste your time thinking... All of it should be spent searching for silver!!! :) ahaha just kidding, HH

LOL. Seems like a good high school math question--or philosophy?. :notworthy:

apush :read2:
