I know its not worth anything but I'm curious as to what it is. Pretty heavy, about the size of a canning jar lid, raised edge on one side. Thanks for your help. lid pic.jpg

Looks like something that goes under furniture legs to keep the floor from getting marked or dented .

I don't know what yours is either.

I found a similar piece and never was able to ID it. I found mine in NJ along the Delaware River. What does the back look like. Mine is a inside mold of the front.

The back is totally flat. It does resemble a very thick, heavy canning jar lid in shape and form. I suppose it could go under furniture- my husband thinks it is a coaster, but it seems very heavy for either purpose. On my BH IV it had the "good tone", not the "aluminum foil bits" sound. It was in my front yard, which recently turned up a Depression era pot and bottles, a silver bracelet I lost, and lots of shredded junk.
Flyadive, your piece in the picture looks to me like it has a raised image on it- Jesus, maybe a religious piece? Mine is flat. I'm not sure what you mean by inside mold of the front, though.

I don't know how to describe it but it is not flat on the back. a mirror image inny not an outty?

Is it magnetic ? First one a tin jar lid and second item
I would guess a pewter lid to a ladies powder box.

Since you said it was 'pretty heavy,' and flat on the back, I think it is a paperweight with the bust of a woman or either Jesus. Welcome to the forum. :) Breezie

Thanks for the welcome and help, the picture you showed actually belongs to flyadive, though, and he said his piece is sunken in on the backside. Mine is boring in comparison:unhappysmiley:

Thanks Breezie I thought our pieces were similar.

If tapered sides and top 'Lip' so others could be stacked inside, could possibly be a rusted 'weight' from a set of scales.
