they got around pretty good back then

Downhill maybe?

Heck they got around better than most 4x4's today, but liking the roll job and hardly no damage.

must have been the tire size.

Bet the butt got a workout. They sure would go in the mud.

Had a /68 Mercedes Uni-Mog 22.5 skinny tires walked through anything, over, and up, but these ones from the twenties really took a beating and still went a ticking down the road. Do that today and it would $$$ damage.

lol... talk about "ruts" in the road... sheesh..
And I b*tch about the potholes... heh

Sheesh... cars today cannot even get through half that crapola...
unless its a truck or jeep... hum-v whatever...
Try taking the ole family car down one of those bad rutted roads...heh

"I wonder what their reasoning was "

Maybe a demonstration of the strength of the roof and A pillars ect..
They rolled the windows up right away after it was righted. A demonstration is my guess...

I agree the Fact there was a Camera on them the Whole Time,
I think it was probably an early ad for Dodge.

I lost count at how many Pans , I dented & ripped open over the years
and how many Drive Shafts & Universals I had to fix
Doing things like that in the 70's.

It was the best advertising vehicle going for my company, 258.1 gear ratio in reverse, 4 cal. gas everything waterproof, gun racks, right from the Swiss army, 13,000kmh on her when I bought it out the container. Would drive down to the recrushing plant and drive to the top of the huge gravel piles 45% slopes no problem. Great for going through from one parking lot to another, 8-12" traffic barriers were a walk over.:laughing7: What was cool I could lift off the doors, windshield, sides, tailgate as everything was on a pin hinges.

I'll look for a photo of her over the weekend.
