This is the small town I am from. The famous march to the sea took a turn toward Millen to liberate Camp Lawton an open pit the Confederacy was using as an Earthworks Prison. Now Strangley, there are guards 24/7 and barbed wire around a long length of fence. I had a funny feeling it was the lost Confederate Treasury, but probably not. This is within a few miles of the battle at Big Horse Creek where it is rumored Sherman himself rode his horse into the sanctuary. The hoof prints were still in the pews. I am going tomorrow to take some pictures and do some snooping. I will post pics later. I would be curious as to opinions on the matter.
