These two clowns were hanging around last evening, hoping I would be generous with some leftovers. Unfortunately, I don't speak raccoon, but I'd swear they're saying something..

Trash pandas. Fun to watch, but can really scatter the garbage can contents.

The cans the garbage pick-up company provides are coon proof. Bear proof, no, but the coons don't seem to be able to open the lids.

Years ago we had a large, galvanized trash can with lid (not hinged). Coons kept raiding. I took a rubber tarp strap and secured the lid via the hooks on the strap.
They took nearly 3 weeks to figure out a way around it. I then used 2 straps in an X pattern. That took about 2 more weeks.
They are very clever and persistent. 🦝🦝

Years ago, my wife would hand feed a family of 5 that came by about every night looking for a handout. After we moved, I could only hope the next owner experienced the same pleasure of having these guys around.

We have had Generations coming since 1996 . Now it's mainly 1 female & her baby's ( now just her ( Named Coon Coon ) for the past 4 years . She has a special 'essence about her ' .

I enjoy their company much more than most people around here . I even let a "Few" stay in the attic over the winter .

I enjoy their company as well, but they ain't stayin' in my attic. They got on my roof and pulled off a couple 3-tab composition shingles on the peak, exposing the bare trusses. Just put on a brand new roof, and I'm making damn sure they don't have a way to get up there. They can be destructive little snits, no doubt.

I understand 100% ,. Our home has an issue repaired 6 times in 40 years , Cedar sided chimney with a 30 o ? roof that rots the soft wood out on the side of the chimney , I gave them till Spring before I cover the small hole but getting old sux LOL & $ is tight + the hole does not let water in . The whole chimney needs to be replaced , I'd love to build a Brick one but this house was shabbily built in 1984 . I'm saving $ tho ( don't tell the SSA as they want me broke ) . Actually our roofs have a similar slope . Good Day
