I am not trying to be wierd or anything,
but by the looks of the broken end,
with the smaller diameter approx 20 to 25 mm long end,
this appears to be an anal thermometer,
a european one because of the celsius readings.

Can't imagine getting that in the mouth
and under the tongue like a "regular" thermometer.
Probably older from an imigrant or something maybe?

How about a hydrometer for measuring specific gravity? Could be used to determine charge of auto battery.
