"There's nothing to find here"

Well we have all heard that before. Not anything earth shattering but a ton of targets in a huge area. The best finds was the nice complete shoe buckle and a 1860 fatty IHP. She also gave me permission to dig the Huge ice house in the front yard. But that is gonna have to wait until cooler times.
Also refound the Fleam tool from a hospital site. NEVER THROW ANYTHING AWAY!!!
Thanks for looking
Ynp

Hey ynpto,

Nice going, sir. It's not every day that one finds a fleam. Mo'betta photos, say I, please.

I wanna hear more about this hospital site. I've always wanted to find an old one...

Surf, thanks for the comment. This site is a house site that was built around the 1790's. from what I can gather from oral and written history. The relics that have found there suggest that both US and Confederate troops (S.C. Calvary and artillery) used this home as a camp towards the end of the war in 1864. The home owner said there are stains on the floors in one of the bed rooms that seem to be old blood. While this may or may not be related to the civil war it would make sense that it would be. I have found no other medical devices(yet) the fleam would suggest the medical nature of this site. There was a large amount of fighting in this area and the soldiers would have used any building possible.
The US relics could be related to post war reconstruction and them occupying the area. But I have no way of knowing that.

A couple more pics
