There is no silver in Brink's boxes

That is what the local Brink's employee has informed the banks that I use. He stated that they pick the coins out before they roll them and there is nothing in their boxes above face value....

I do believe that Brinks Inc. would be very upset by his statement ....

I think that he just doesnt like dragging on my boxes and dump bags

So I ordered 2 more additional boxes /per week :icon_jokercolor: and while the teller that orders my boxes was telling me about there was no silver to be found I bought $5.00 worth of loose halves for 3 40%, Ed

Re: There is no silver in Brink's boxes

Last week I found a couple of silver coins in Brink's rolls, so his theory must be false.

I don't belive it for a minute. They aren't going to pay someone to pull silver. Can you imagine the downtime for the rolling machine. It just won't happen.

Re: There is no silver in Brink's boxes

The only way a company like Brinks or CWI would do this is if they had a machine that spit out the silver based on weight or composition of the coin. I don't know how much weight is lost due to the wear and tear we see on the average 90%s we find so that they may weigh the same as clad?

Also, to make a machine that sorts this way that is fast enough to meet their demands for rolling the coins would probably be very expensive if even possible to make at all. But no way the workers are sifting through thousands and thousands of coins by hand looking for silver.

I have talked to Brinks about it and they can not buy one single coin that they have in the place. It is not allowed for them to pull anything.

Re: There is no silver in Brink's boxes

Oh this prick is no going to stop me ... he tried to jam me up with the banks and they did start asking a bunch of questions and I dont like questions... btw all I ever have got is Brinks boxes , I dont have great totals but they sure are silver ones .

I do believe with the statements that he made Brinks would fire him on the spot , I am not going to call them or anything .. I ordered more boxes and looking for some more dump banks that I know he services ...he is already complaining about hauling on them

Ha, the funniest part of this is I am just a little pee on in this game ... he wouldnt know what do with some of you :icon_jokercolor:

Anyways thanks for letting me vent on here instead of on him... a word to the wise dont f%%k with someones passion cuz what comes around goes around and then some , Ed

I cannot understand why the Brinks worker would be complaining. They make money off of hauling money. And since your relationship is with the bank, not Brinks, where does he have any right to get involved with what you do anyway. The only caveat to this would be if your bank negotiated some type of flat fee agreement with Brinks where the bank pays the same no matter how much is ordered and/or carted away. Then I could see where he was being lazy and wanting to haul the least amount of coin around each time. I dont know if such a thing as a flat rate exists or not though.

As long as your bank is cool with you, the Brinks guy should have no effect. For all your bank knows, maybe you are looking for coins other than silver, ie, proofs, rare years , errors, etc.

I have been dealing with a new bank for a couple of weeks and they are fantastic. They almost seem enthusiastic about getting me boxes (I dont dump there). There are no fees for me and the boxes have been OK. My fear is that when the bean counters in management see how much coin is being ordered each week they may pull the plug or want to charge fees. I have been finding alternative banks to order from as well so I dont overload my new great bank.

My experience with some of the banks if not most is the truck drivers all hate dealing with the recent influx of half dollar coins being ordered ea and every week.

We are relentless in this search and our numbers are growing.

So yea the drivers are a little salty. I can see them tyring to push a little disinformation to save his back.

Some people here might say the same things to newbies to hedge against a little competition. All part of the game.

Those guys Brinks Loomis Whoever aren't benefiting from our hobby. The drivers that is.

Lets look at some of our more prolific CRH's some order as much as 30 boxes at a single bank. And I'd have to say the avg CRH (once totally hooked) gets 2 to 4 boxes per bank. That's a lot more lifting than these guys are used to. I actually looked at employment opportunity for drivers on one of the carrier sites and it specifically said must be able to lift 50lbs...... LOL

Nuff said. These guys are upset, plain and simple......

That is it. One of my banks told me they don't care if I bring several bags in they have a contract for so many pick-ups and deliveries per month. They did put a limit on deposits of $10,000 per month in cash/coin. Don't think I will ever get close to that limit. >:(
