I think tncreeker was on to something mentioning that Guns & Roses was one of his worst experiences. I been to concerts were the warm-up band was better than the featured act. More on that in a minute...

You can also mention popular acts that you wouldn't even accept tickets to see for free. I only ask that you give a reason, other than, I hate them :tongue3:

My worst concert experience

Slay and The Family Stone MSG in the early 70's... Sly was just about completely out of it, and stumbled with words through every song... The only saving grace for the night was the opening group, Earth, Wind, and Fire. Great music and performers

#2 Frampton's Camel.. Although I had loved Peter when he was with Humble Pie, this venture really had nothing of substance. It was a lackadaisical performance to say the least >:(

Groups I would never see - Even more will hate me after this pick :laughing7:

The Boss. That's right, you couldn't give me "FREE" tickets to Bruce Springstein.. I understand that he puts on a good show and a good mix of music, and no 2 concerts are alike......... but......... He just rambles on too long in his little raps between songs. I didn't go there to hear his boring stories, I came for the music :laughing7: I think 1/2 his raps are as long as those songs too, so no interest there

I like all live music, but the worst concert? Surprisingly, Steppenwolf. They were part of a package show and had flight problems. They were put on last. The show had to shut down at 11pm due to OKC noise ordinances. They got to do 5 songs. That's it, no encore. But me and my son, who was 8 then, were right at the front with John Kay, and we were surrounded by about a 100 drunk bikers all dressed in leather in 95 degree Oklahoma heat. So maybe it wasn't all that bad. (I really was a good father, the ex even conceded that in court during the divorce case.) And I have absolutely no attraction to Bruce Springsteen's music.

Now that yo reminded me, Slay was a bit delayed and Earth, Wind and Fire went on a little longer with extended songs. I guess they were trying to get Sly off of cloud 9 :laughing7:

I never thought of disliking a concert due to conditions, but yes, that can get to you as well. Especially in crowded, smaller venues, where everyone is trying to get better seating :tongue3: You have to love people that have nosebleed seats and think they should be seating in the orchestra pit. That can be frustrating when a good deal of people are trying to do the same thing... Just like the old Chinese fire drill.

It's alright Hey Lawdy Mama, I would have put up with your inconvenience to see Steppenwolf :headbang:

As far as The Boss goes, you'll never see me at one of his concerts either, I just have no appreciation for his music. That being said, as far as a star goes, he is an "A" one guy. He's a down to earth local Jersey guy and will hang out in the bar and talk with anyone near him. He also goes back to the old Stone Pony and will play for "free" It's nice to get a free concert like that, but I would have to close my check and move on to the next venue :laughing7:

Oct. 1981 ~ Worst concert....actually was twilight zoneish. When all of a sudden people started throwing things on the stage and booing Prince (who was one of the opening acts) for the Rolling Stones. He actually walked off stage. Lots loud booing and laughing! I remember Immediately George Thorogood and his band came on and started playing....it was weird.

Probably Aerosmith at Albright College Reading, PA
in an Auditorium about half the size
of most normal High School Auditoriums.

Place was made of Cinderblocks
& aerosmith Didn't care that
Blasting the Musinc at Concert hall Volume
Echoed from the first Cord to the last

I'd be surprised if the place sat 500
