This past weekend me and my wife went to see the exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Denver museum of nature & science. We had tickets to go in to that showing at 1: PM, so we spent the time waiting looking at everything else in the museum. I've only visited the museum maybe 5 times in the years I've lived here, but one of my favorite displays are these mineral sculptures created by this Russian artist named, Vasily Konovalenko. Each piece is created by various unique mineral specimens. It's always a delight to marvel at these lapidary masterpieces. I have to say the museums gem and mineral display is always my favorite to go and review. No pictures were allowed of the scroll display. Not only did you see the scroll fragments, but they had many other artifacts excavated from the time the scrolls are estimated to be written, which was very interesting.
