The "Wheat Field" yields more than Wheats

Had to hit the dentist after work today and I go right by an area that I fondly call "The Wheat Field". I have mostly pulled wheat pennies from this area but lately it's been coughing up some silver/wilver (whichever you prefer) every now and again. Today was a banner day for me as I hit two milestones in my short detecting career. I retrieved my 1st Walker and my 1st Washington Quarter :icon_cheers: SCORE!!! I found both of them in the same hole along with two more wheats to make this a mini pocket spill. One of the wheats was laying on top of the Walker which is why both have the green tint. I picked up one more Merc. prior to calling it quits after this short 1/2 hour hunt.

Here's the breakdown...

1. 1943 Walker
2. 1936 Washington
3. 1943 Merc.
4. 1947 Lincoln
5. 1941 Lincoln
6. 1918 Lincoln

Forgive me if the picture isn't very good, I scanned the coins and dumped them in photobucket, cropped and this is what you have...

:tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4: :tongue4:

Re: The "Wheat Field" yields more than Wheats

if you got a nickle you have a small change slam --very very good for a short hunt

Re: The "Wheat Field" yields more than Wheats

Those Wheats & big silver are awesome  Maybe one day I'll find a Walker :)

Take care,

You are the man this day my friend!!! WTG big time on the big silver.
Pulling that out of the hole is something you will remember always.
I think it will be the first of many for you because you have a keen passion
and the desire to learn and make things happen for yourself.

You have one up on me now man, congrats!
It's been years since I found a dug big silver,
I did get one in the chips two years ago (daddy's coin collection spill)

Keep em coming buddy!

I am lined up for a jewelry box recovering mission for one of my customers friends this weekend...stay tuned ;D

Smiles!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Those are some real beauties. I like the name you gave the field where
you hunt.

A few of my fellow water hunters have a name for an island where a boat swim area is at a local lake,
we call it Ring Island. Over the years out of this lake and around this island we have taken over
3,000 rings out of the water.

It's funny how a person can start calling an area something totally different than what it was
originally called.

P.S. I was water hunting today, but only found a ladies bracelet. No rings!

Neat finds for a half hour search. I would say keep hitting that site.

Congrats on those nice silver coins, especially the heavyweight walker!

That's a half hour well spent, nice finds.

Nice bunch of coins to add to your treasure box. Good luck to you in the future. Thanks for sharing.

I like re-naming features in parks. We have a place in one of our old parks we call " Washington Hill" we never have found anything but silver and clad quarters on it, no wheats, no dimes, nickels, no barbers, I think because of all the can slaw and aluminum screw caps that everyone else passed up the big noises......... Not GE

Welcome to the Walker club!!!

Congrats on the nice finds.

Ring Island... I like the sounds of that. And with over 3000 pulled from the area that's an appropriate name.
Thanks for the kind words ringfinder, I'm still on cloud 9 this morning...

Very nice finds, those WL's are the best. The old heart goes pitty patter when they come out of the ground.
