Nice weather today & although we didn't plan a longer session we ended up doing 6.5 hrs of gridding to finish off a section, in case this is our last hunt. Not sure if the crop will be too mature on Saturday, but we will take a look & make the call.
Still a mystery as to what was going on in this field for hundreds of years. Every outing we fill a tub up with lead & many of it is various sizes of rolled up stuff. Mainly pretty small & we have no idea why. We are also getting more than the usual Tubular Lead Weights. (See todays haul!) Some of these can be Roman but most of these are Medieval/Tudor.
As we are covering a huge grid, I was moving pretty quick & digging evener quicker, dug plenty of holes today...

You certainly getting spoiled with all that digging.
All those rolled lead must of sounded well.
Congrats on the beautiful silvers, certainly these numbers have added to the tally records.
