I was in Plains, GA today (not visiting Jimmy Carter!) and happened to find this old oil can in a junk shop. I thought it was an old milk can, but they pointed out to me that it's really an oil can. I've tried to do some research on it, but all I can find out is that The Texas Company became TEXACO in 1959, so the can is older than that. I'd like to know the value and how were the cans, specifically, used. It's got a serial # on it (15559) which I think is pretty cool. It's rusty, but has a nice patina. No holes or evident weak spots and is, basically, dent-free (a couple very, very slight indentations). Any help on value and any other info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Sure hope I'm posting this on here properly!!!
