Picked up a massive haul of 16 silver quarters in the Coinstar today:

1942 (x4)
1943 (x3)
1944 (x7)
1945 (x2)

Add to that 79c in clad.

Never have I found anything like this in a coinstar machine. Just luck of being there at the right time.

coinstar 3-14.webp

Yikes, that's got to be some kind of a record, Congrats!

Thanks, but nah, there was someone at the end of last year who had the mother of all silver coinstar finds. It was literally unbelievable. There is a post on it.

That's one excellent haul! Interesting that they're all from the war years.

You would expect high volume to improve your odds (what grocery store did not get slammed this week?). I found two Rosies myself (1952 and 1964, both Philly). Not the best time to be picking up coins from the floor, but for silver I'll make an exception.

I would have dropped my roll of toilet paper right there. excellent!

Congrats on the great haul!

When the supermarkets are slammed, the employees are too busy working to check the coinstars.

Thanks. Yeah, it was interesting that they were all from WW2 years - all Phila also. Obviously some sort of collection. 2 rosies is a nice find - when I find silver in Coinstars it is usually a dime. I am with you, I will pick up silver any time.

LOL!!! If there was a roll to be found. Although it seems as if TP is worth more than gold these days.

Yeah there is one market in my neighborhood where one of the employees always checks them - when she is at the store, I am disappointed.

Someone probably cashed it in for some TP and was in such a hurry they didn't check the reject tray.

Awesome SCORE!!!!!!! Congrats! :headbang:

Your pulse must have been up alittle...to say the least...just incredible!

A cache in the coinstar! Can you tell me more about the 4 pennies? :)
