The shiny keeps on comin'
Again, 1000 thumbs up to these Mr Bills modified White's Classic ID's. Day 5, silver #6 along with a handful of wheats in an area full of junk and EMI. I've never owned a more productive, more 'well-behaved' detector than the Classic ID's.
Gotta thank '53Silvers youtube videos and Terry Solomon's passion for the beep 'n digs for enlightening me on these machines.
Just too damn bad MD manufacturers are not allowed to make these units anymore due to restrictions on lead based analog components. I haven't used them all, but knowing the characteristics of digital machines, these are more capable machines IMHO than any of the new machines at any price.
Sweep it slow, sweep it low. If it beeps, dig it. The advantage to the Classic ID's vs. the non-ID beep and dig machines is no thumbing the discrimination and you do get some indication as to what you're about to dig.
The ID on these machines is not great, but it seems to work to your advantage. I've had wheats ID as quarters, but if it's a penny or a dime, it's generally spot on. Shallow zinc cents are a no-brainer for the ID, but wheats will ID as zinc. I just dig the signals that sound weaker and deeper, but these Classics hit hard on silver.
