Today i went on my second hunt. :)
This time i did went to an ruin after an old cottage where poor people did live between 1750-1900.
It was often the children from families like this that emigrate to the U.S.
Because of this some American perhaps has roots to this cottage. ;D
I did only hopped to find old tool and nail so when i did find a 5?re from 1876 i was quite surprised. But the ? on it did look like an Swedish ?. It turned out to be an Norwegian 5 ?re what that did by the cottage i cant understand. ???
So my old ;) record from yesterday i broken by 67 years.

With pleasant regards Viktor

hey happy that forest is so much like a particular forest to where i am,, its no joke when the fog comes in and you hear them horse hoofs galloping towards you, then ass soon as they came theres nothing , and you leave like quick as hell,, only to find a couple of weeks later a ghost horseman is supposed to haunt the area who was hanged 400 years ago,,,,,, .... This subject line in this thread has got to be the best i've ever seen here... "The ruin in the forest"... who could resist reading this?

Great!!!

Awesome find too BTW...

Julien

Nice coin you got there. It's neat to see the woods of other countries. You guys have alot of pines in your area.

HH Jer

Very nice relics Viktor and a super detecting site! You did very well, the pine needles around my area are very thick making the old finds deep. HH, Mike

Great coin and relics!!! Neat site. Is there many like that around? WTG!!! HH

That pic would look good in a frame.Nice!

Great idea to do a rubbing of the coin to show the detail. No snow up there yet?

I'm sure it looks a little spooky to some because of the high latitude and low sun and in the woods on top of it all.

;D hi I just wanted to tell you you did a great job with taking the picture as well as finding something cool! I thought the pic was so beautiful. I passed the page on to my daughter and son to see! Your dog is very handsone!
And spooky ? ??? LOL :D ;D I think it looks like a great place for a adventurer !!!! Would love to walk there ! And it looks like they could have filmed "The Lord Of The Rings" there too! Thank you for sharing it with us! Other then movies how offten do we get to see such beauty?
Happy Hunting !

Neat site. Is there many like that around?

One of the reasons that i got a metaldetector is so that i can explore my neighbourhood.
It exist plenty of ruins because of that in my "village" (only 5 family's) there is an old smelting-house from around 1500.
And it was active to as late as 1800. During this time the smelting-house required several hundred workers. who needen some where to live. And with a lot of people you need a bakery, smithy etc. (actually it is in the smithy i am siting right now ;D )
Sorry for the history lesson. ::)

The green dot is the ruin from above. And the blue i other ruins.
Pink is the area where a workers barrack from 1600-1700 have been.
And thanks for the appreciation.
Viktor
