It was hotter than expected with no cloud cover & little breeze, so after 5 hours we called it, knowing that we still have another 5 hour+ session to finish the site.
The field is starting to dry up & the surface is pretty dusty but at least being sandy its easy to dig.

24 Roman Bronze Coins - 1 good one
WWI/II New Zealand Forces Button
Hammered Farthing of Edward III (Cru'dads 4th dig of the day)
Clipped Siliqua (probably Honorius):icon_thumright:

A brass name plate (not sure what of?);
MRS EYRE
SUN INN
WEST BAR

With a little research its the wife of James Eyre owner of the Sun Inn (pub) in Sheffield 1911;

It stop being a pub in the 1960s, but its rare other than 17th C tokens, that I find an item I can pin to a person, date & place! Pretty cool.

Great hunt, congratulations! :occasion14:

Those are some super nice Roman coins-congratulations

Those are some really fine digs ! Took me a while to see this post . I seem to remember that you found that Siliqua last year ? but a super nice condition specimen .

Each piece would be a thrill to find, but the name plate is special, in my opinion. It must be some fun diggin' over there.

Yes that reverse type but can't remember the Emperor, as this reverse was used on a couple.
