Got back out there again today!This time I found my first whole stone ax!!! :headbang: I also found alot of other neat stuff.Another copper coin looks to be a Irish Half again,two lead trade pieces I'd guess came from the Indian area,nice little button,piece of buckle I think,piece from gun,piece of thimble,and shot etc.The ax made my day though! :thumbsup: All needs to be cleaned.

Creeks and river beds are hard on meatal objects.

Just know on this side if you want the old stuff you got to go were it's at.That said they settled on the rivers first.

Yes I agree, it's the first thing I look for when trying to find new sites, one of my local farms has a River running right through it, and I have already seen Medieval pottery on the shore line.

Thanks for the ID there jpitt1970,Yea I find these Indian things but use general terms.Still used to chop,I guess the axes are bigger.Have not found a ax-ax yet.But this is my second celt the other one is broke in three pieces.Your right shouldn't call it a Axe. :thumbsup: :hello:
