Sorry for bringing this back up, but after further cleaning of the ring, it looks like it says Texas Centennial something, something, then Dallas between the dates 1836 to 1936. Here's a pic but it's horrible. Maybe someone has a pic of this same ring that isn't eat up with corrosion so I can read it without cleaning it any further.
Thanks, Mark

Very interesting depression era ring Just-dig.

http://www.texascentennial.com/index.php

On April 21, 1836, after bitter defeats at the Alamo and Goliad, the fledgling Army of the Republic of Texas defeated the Mexican Army at San Jacinto and won independence for the Republic. One hundred years later, in 1936, Texans celebrated their centennial of freedom with a state-wide, year-long celebration. Almost every community had some sort of event honoring the state but the main event was the $25,000,000 Texas Centennial Exposition held at Dallas from June through November. This was the first world's fair ever held below the Mason-Dixon Line.

I think the ring is upside down. texas centenial.webptexas ring.webp

Re: The ring, thanks for the help!

Wow, y'all are Johnny on the spot! I thought it was a kids ring at first too, but it fits my pinky finger just right.
Thanks for the input.
