pictured are the rest of the finds made in my recent journey. Most were creek finds.

check out the color inclusions on the chert in pic 2. This piece had a "ring" to it when tapped, (like a fine china of the flint variety)

That tool in pic 3 is wild. An ax with an angle.

The revolver frame has been id'd as a patent 1851 Adams Cavalry Revolver .44 cal 5 shot cap and ball. Extensively used by the Confederates. (also found at the ranch)

I'm still pumped!

I find it interesting when you can find the same type of rock that your artifact was made out of in the same area. Makes me feel a connection to it like they just never got around to using it. That last one is nice. How big is it?

Not real sure I know what you mean, but I guess it's all connected, as chert is well dispersed over the property. There is at least one quarry and then many, many cobbles washing out of the creek bank and strewn down the dry washes. They didn't have to import any and could be as wasteful as they wanted.
I always found it interesting that I've never found anything at the quarry area. However there are two large sites where flakes are ever present and of course it is a different story there.
About as big as your fist. Solid gray in back and totally convex in shape.
