Just a heads up for you guys in the States in case you havenā€™t seen this UK BBC programme called ā€œThe Repair Shopā€.

People bring along their heirlooms in dilapidated or broken condition and a workshop full of experts sympathetically restores them or gets them back into working condition while trying to keep as much of their heritage as possible. Lots of the items have treasured memories and heart-warming stories behind them as well as fascinating insight about how they were originally made. Thereā€™s also lots of tips and hints to be had about cleaning and restoration techniques.

Series 6 starts shortly in the UK and, although I donā€™t think the programme has actually aired in the States, I believe Series 3 is currently available on Netflix.

You can get a feel for what kind of show it is from their YouTube channel below but itā€™s one of the few ā€˜donā€™t-missā€™ programmes in our household. Everything stops when itā€™s on and the wife and I sit there, fascinated.

Iā€™ve watched a number of episodes. Those folks are really talented and very patient.
Thanks for sharing.

I just finished one season of it on Netflix and enjoyed watching it. I have done some furniture repair/renovation so that is my main interest but I also like watching the other repairs that were done. Hopefully more seasons will come to Netflix.
