Hi all went camping this week-end and 2 spent todays over at the historic goldrush town of Castlemaine.Heres a link to give a bit of history of the town of castlemaine.

http://www.castlemaine.org/

Well i spent may hours hunting but managed a couple of keepers. Dutch gin bottle [1860] and a wine token 1864 Butterworth of castlemaine .Small town tokens are hard to come by i,m so real happy ;D ;D ;D

Oher finds include a once silverplated fob chain and a copper[pressed] lion head with a ring threw its nose. The relic is only about 2 inches long and far to small to be a door knocker. Any ideas would be help. ???

Starting to warm up and i feel the heat will not be far away.Heres a couple pics

Nice finds, and what a cool bottle!
Maybe the lions head is a drawer pull off of a dresser?

I know what you mean, we are the working class hobbyists, LOL! I have also drooled over that Minelab GPX4500, awesome machine. A friend I have detected with traded in his GPX3000 for a 4500, he has done well with it as he has always done well in Alaska. I will admit to you, I have not found any Nazi silver coinage, close but no swastika. I did find a nice Nazi swastika pin yesterday and a late 1800s seal matrix. I do hope you will invite me down under for a hunt when we retire from the working class in about 20 years and I will invite you here to the land of the beer, LOL. HH, Mike

That token is awesome - nice work!!!

Love that token. Now that's the kind of bottle Gypsy and I were looking for in the creek bed at the CTH2. ;D

 RR

gracious...hard to decide what I like best...token....bottle...drawer pull....oh forget it...love them all! lol congrats!

sounds like a good idea because i think in 20 years treasure hunting down under will be a thing of the past.Theres just to many laws and the areas to hunt are shrinking.
