The "Reality" of the Klondike Now
This photo was taken in front of my cabin in February 1986. It is only about five miles from Quartz Creek and the Hoffman's "Gold Rush" mining outfit. That is my tough buddy Raymond feeding his sled dogs a half of a frozen salmon each at -58 degrees. We just came in on a 6 1/2 mile trail and I am glad my wife knows how to build a fire fast. Talk about frozen gold. You even have to keep the outhouse seat by the stove and take it out with you when you need to do your "business." Now you know why the "Gold Rush" people aren't still up there.
