Many homestead homes have the big potash pots as lawn decor.
Seems it was a staple for homesteads when they broke the deeded land grants.
From scaldin hogs to making lye.
Or doin laundry.
And there were better ways to make lye.

Vikings area the Loius &Clark expedition were extracting salt from seawater using pots.
Hard to imagine they hauled pots that for.
But maybe they weren't the kind of pots I envision in salt making.

Mornin all.
Gritty snow says no hunting today.

Had a new experimental brush/short push broom out of an auction lot awaiting snow on the deck.
It is too stiff to go across planks but can go lengthwise with caution.
The resistance is pushing the chair around though. And still too stiff on the aluminum ramp out front.

I'll try a softer brush.
Last years prior old push broom stashed under a tractor is quite wide. If the narrower soft one in the pole barn doesn't work as well , the big broom will be back in play. I'd hoped to reserve it for clearing the plow truck off.

Damn that was a good fish. What's the guess of what it was? Do you get those monster alligator gar there? They look awesome.
Probably a big striped bass. They get 30lbs plus in there, just not common. Was using a medium-light 6'6" quick action rod with 6lb test throwing jerk baits.
Had that rod for 30+ years, must've been deteriorating. The line should have snapped long before the rod.

I see you still haven't disconnected your connection.
I'll do that in 7 minutes @12:40
Okay..I unplugged the T-Mobile 5G, now what ?
