*********THE " QUEST " FOR 125 IS A " SWEET FIND " ********
The quest for 125 silver coins for 2006 is over.
TNET member VISCERAL and I decided to go out M D'ing today.
While driving to go do a bunch of tear downs I noticed an old home that sat on big chunk of land. While passing it I was pointing it out to Pat and then noticed a guy standing on the porch. I said. I'm turning around and going back to ask permission. As I pulled into the gravel drive Pat said something about a masters touch.
I drove up to the gentleman and explained about our M D'ing hobby and the asked if it would be O K to look for coins. He said " GO AHEAD " He also said. That there was a guy here in the summer doing it." Lets go for it" we both said.
I pulled a wheatie out in a matter of minutes. Pat joined in and started pulling coins up too.
About 1/2 hour into the hunt VISCERAL pulled up a beautiful 1928 S L Q .
While he was pulling wheaties and a SLQ I was pulling up the OSMOPLASTIC 1956( It's a tag of a fungicide in the treatment of soil )( Thanks Google ) I got 4 of them in a 5 foot area.I gave the owner 1 and also gave the owner a dog tag 1987 that I found from 1 of his dogs. He didn't want anything. He said.
All that was pulled up from our short hunt was 25+( 35+ ) Wheaties 1928 SLQ 7 tokens ( 4 of which were the same ) only 4 memorial pennies and a quarter
I found THE QUEST FOR 125 COIN under where the old clothes line use to be.
BOY What A COIN >>>>>>for the 125th.
