A last trial was opened in Italy, last year, concerning the illegal recovery of artifacts and treasures, consisting of gold and silver coins, jewelry, precious stones etc… in 100 meters down off the coast of Ebla Island in 2000.
The judge decided that there was prescription and ended up the whole judicial process against the British, French and Italian involved in the case !
A documentary film has been shot lately about the saga story of this treasure wreck and her recoveries. It will be shown on the French TV program Thalassa next March 2009 and then worldwide on TV5 (French cable TV). A book is also under preparation to re-establish the truth about the whole story which involved manipulations, lies, threats, blackmailing and greed.
In other words, all ingredients of an extraordinary tale in which responsibilities are not where you think they should be...
