Your idea is the most original thing I have seen on TNET.
Such a great idea!

I live in TX, and I doubt your book volumes have much on it... But there is a TON of Civil war history here and if you DO come across any images I will play along!

ya i dont live close to a cw site either, so i used gmap, i didnt type it down and save link,
but i think this was from the, The opening battles book

i was doing some geneology search, and found im wrong about cw activity in my
area, there were several cw camps in clev., tremont was a place i hung out as a kid
i live out in the burbs now,i think my cuz and his bro still own some rentals on miller
and i have 2 friends that live and own houses on 7th and literary, my godparents lived
on jefferson and had a deli on professor, wonder if there is a way to find out what
happened to all the dirt that was dug out for the basements of those houses built around
there, the soldiers had to lose stuff

looking for some things for friend in TX, found this volume has TX images, you might have to google map
some of them, and sometimes the map has imgs. as i get time maybe i can list the states listed in each
volume, that may take some time though

I bookmarked this thread to refer to later in my session on the forum.
thanks!

i had asked up thread what happened to the dirt from basement digs
in the tremont area sorry found out/ told by some old timers that some
went to fill on whiskey island and beach fill by the break wall and landfill
around the burke lake front airport area and the treatment plant, back
in the 1890s to 1920s. no confirmation on that info yet
