This 5 1/8 inches long by 3 1/4 inches wide full groove axe was found 01/02/2004 in Hancock County Indiana. An old house site debris covers the east side of the creek, where numerous small old bottles and a few mercury dimes also were found. Old plow strikes are evident on both sides of the axe. None of the plow strikes caused chipping or impact damage to the axe. The axe is not very thick.
As I walked up the west side of the creek rise, this full groove axe was laying exposed.
No other points were found on the rise, then or since.
