Where I life is pretty much a booming suburban region in Boulder County, Colorado and they're building like there's no tomorrow. The one good thing is there's an equal half of all the land space that has been set aside for open-space, which the county began buying up starting in the early 1990 which I was transferred here in 1988 and bought a home then. When I'm up to it I like to peddle my bike along the many miles of pathways. You can still find a bit of natural and solitude in these open lands that travel along creeks, sloughs and old irrigation ditches that were dug more than a hundred years ago when agriculture was the only improvements anyone would attempt to do to this high plains desert. These are images I took with my phone of the forever to be left undeveloped areas I like to enjoy.

That's a gooseberry bush. It looks like it's gonna be a good year for berries in general and I just might pick me some this season. There's lots of wild raspberry and choke cherry bushes along the creeks and ditches.

What a beautiful area!! I may have to leave Illinois!
